Special Nonexistent Furniture

  • Are you finding it hard to believe that the holidays have come and gone, 2014 is in full swing, and Valentine's Day is just around the corner? You are not alone. When we think about celebrating cupid's favorite holiday, we typically focus on love letters, heart-shaped chocolate boxes, and a dozen red roses. Some of you (and I know you're out there!) enjoy decorating your home for Valentine's Day. The secret here is to keep the décor simple, affordable, and fun. If you are up for a little project, I've pulled a few of my favorite DIY Valentine's Day décor ideas that allow your home to express your love too.
  • Spreading the love is easy with these darling DIY ombré yarn L-O-V-E letters. How cute would they be on a fireplace mantel, bookcase, or entry table?
  • I'm smitten with this garland using the playing cards in the suit of hearts. I envision it hung in an entry, window, or across the mantel.
  • Yep, this Valentine's Day décor idea is from me! Using a vintage chrome cart and festive dishware, I created a hot chocolate bar. The XOXO banner was made using red glitter paper and baker's twine. So easy!
  • Christmas isn't the only time you can decorate your mantel for a holiday. Love this one with several DIY items. How cute and simple are the jam jars with paper hearts? The pom-pom garland is a stand out, too.
  • I've saved my favorite for last. I love this DIY triangle patchwork wall heart in shades of pink with a splash of gold. It seriously took only 10 sheets of paper, a pair of scissors, and some sticky dots to create. I'm totally doing this this year.

How about you? Do you decorate for Valentine's Day? If so, please share your own DIY projects with us!

    Happy soon-to-be Valentine's Day,
