Decorating with Chandeliers
For a contemporary twist on chandelier placement, try hanging one in your bedroom. It will make a big (and unforgettable!) impact. No longer just for formal spaces, like dining rooms, chandeliers provide amazing ambient light that's just right for cozying-up in your bedroom.
We share four of our favorite ways to decorate with chandeliers in the bedroom. Take a look!
Create an instant focal point by installing a chandelier in the middle of your bedroom. One of the more popular placement choices, this is the best way to illuminate the entire room. A chandelier with exposed bulbs will provide the most light.
Make sure to pick a chandelier size, regardless of the style, that's proportionate to the size of your room.
Tip! Install the chandelier at least 7 feet above the floor. You want to make sure there is plenty of head room!
A chandelier doesn't always have to be the focal point of your bedroom! Placing them off to the side above a desk or vanity has two major benefits: It clears up tabletop space and provides an abundant amount of flattering light.
Keep in mind that the chandelier should be slightly above eye level when standing. Then, when you're sitting at your desk or vanity it will still be out of your way!
Tip! Control the amount of light that is being used by installing a dimmer.
For an elegant and regal look, supplement recesssed ceiling lights, table lamps, and wall sconces with an ornate chandelier hung above the bed.
Two of the most common over-the-bed placements are on the ceiling in the middle of the bed and close to the headboard. No matter where it's hung, there should be plenty of clearance between you and the chandelier.
