Although this light was very expensive (well over $200), it arrived without hardware or mounting instructions, and nothing to indicate that it has the capacity to operate on batteries, as advertised. A plate on the back had to be removed in order to access this capacity, but no one would think of doing that without prior notice. The entire light is extremely flimsy, and the batteries keep popping out of the enclosure into which they must be inserted. I seldom write negative reviews, but in this case I feel impelled to do so, because I was--quite frankly--shocked by the quality of the item. I will never buy a House of Troy light again.
