In other words, can we assemble this cart without the spice bar and towel rack and still have smoothly finished side panels? Or possibly the bolts could just be inserted to close the pre-cut holes? "Hey Judith, The spice rack is built in to the unit. If you take apart you may damaged the unit. I would advise leaving the unit as is. Because the unit is designed to have the options stated there will be holes to have the options attached."

It may have been fine without, but I have been a builder all of my life and it seemed inadequate. It was not a huge issue, but should have been addressed by the manufacturer. I would definitely recommend a friend to buy this with the caveat that a few more screws should be used. Was this helpful? Yes / No

Roselynn from San Clemente, CA	5.0 4/18/2012 more storagee and counter space for my little beach cottage kitchen Product Review I downsized in 2011 to 800 sq ft beach cottage and it has been difficult to navigate in my tiny little kitchen. This kitchen cart has added much needed storage and counter space! I honestly don't know how I managed without it. The kids think it is a fun table to eat on. The product is sturdy. My husband had to help me put the base together because it is hard to hold the side-boards up and screw them in at the same time. Service Review Delivery was quick. It took approx one week to ship to southern California. The box was large and heavy so there were "dings" to the packaging but the product was wrapped well inside the box and was unharmed by shipping. Was this helpful? Yes / No

With the addition of a second, smaller cart, the cart provided additional storage, work surface, and with the extension, an eating bar or buffet server. Well thought out and put together. Blends perfectly with existing maple cabinetry. Equally helpful as a quick meal server with the addition of bar stools and a serving buffet for a holiday dinner.
