Did I actually pay over 1000 for a wooden jigsaw puzzle

I love the look of the console now that we have it together. BUT - my husband and I spent about eight hours on assembly and it wasn't easy! Pilot holes were missing in many places so we had to drill starter holes. For the money I expected dovetail drawers and other better finishes. Instead we assembled the drawers with screws. Now that it is together it is sturdy and attractive. We have not even thought about starting on the piers. They have to be easier don't they
