I bought a few different pieces of bedroom furniture and my son said this was by far the most difficult piece to put together. Funny because just looking at it he thought it was going to be the easiest. Directions are hard to follow and it's probably better to have two people to do the job. I love the bed though. It's beautiful and excellent quality.
My dream bed.

I bought this bed when moving into my new house. The price was great and the shipping was faster than I could have hoped for. The bed is beautiful and sturdy (and I am fluffy if you know what I mean).

nit looks good, after I finally got it assembled. About half the helicoil threads were so full of crud that the bolts could not be threaded in. Luckily I had the correct size tap to clean out the threads, otherwise there is no way the frame could have been assembled. That was a bit time consuming. The other issue was some hard moled half circle spacer washers that I could not install without filing about 18 inch off each one, and even with that I had to pry the bolts they went on out from there resting position to get the spacers started, then hammer them on far enough to get the bolts started. I did get them all in, although the misalignment was enough on one corner that the frame started to crack so I stopped without tightning that one the full way. All in all it took maybe 4 hours to assemble what would have probably taken no more than an hour had the issues above not been in the way. But, once you get past the assembly issues the bed looks fine. If you are not prepared to do the additional work I described, you may be returning the unit so keep that in mind before you order!

Queen bed I purchased for myself for use with a memory foam matress. Discovered at least a low profile boxspring/foundation is required as there are insufficient slats to fully support a mattress. Also the gap between the bed frame and headboard is more than 16".
