I recently remodelled my kitchen and was looking for new furniture for the breakfast nook. I found the perfect table at a furniture store, but didn't like the chairs (or their price) that were supposed to go with it. After searching online, I found these chairs and thought I'd order a pair to try. These exceeded my expectations! They are a very sturdy chair once put together--a process that took about 20 minutes per chair. I was planning to add seat cushions to them, but so far have found them comfortable enough to not require it. A couple of warnings: They are a flat black color, not a glossy finish. That's exactly what I wanted, but there may be prospective buyers who are looking for gloss. Also, the seat is deep. My 6'2" husband finds it comfortable, and I'm fine with it at 5'5", but my 10-year-old twins are unable to sit all the way back and lean against the chairback without having their legs sticking straight out in front of them. They complain the chairs are uncomfortable, but a couple of years and a growth spurt will fix that problem. I'm back to the website today to order more of these to complete my breakfast nook.
Amazing look and feel!

We shopped for a really long time to find black chairs that we liked. We have had these in bar stools for 9 months and now have 8 regular chairs to match that we bought a couple of months ago. We love they way they look. They are also really comfortable to sit in with a great angle on the back of the chair and a place hollowed out for your bottom. They were also very easy to assemble and delivery was exactly when they said it would be. No problems at all here. We highly recommend these to anyone!
Matches the picture and nice solid wood

i would have given this 5 stars, but putting them together was why I didn't. The instructions weren't as clear as they could've been. You get 2 chairs in a box. The first one, was the challenge because there are 3 lengths of screws. I mistakenly used the long ones first, but should be used the medium ones. I didn't realize it until almost finished, and had to remove and replace those, etc. the next chair was easy once I knew how.
These Arts and Crafts chairs were exactly what I was looking for.

Our chairs came very quickly, only two days. We ordered 5 sets to go with our large dining table that I had gotten for a great price. With so many chairs we were glad that we didn't have to put them together with the tools that were included and instead used drills to get the job done quickly. The chairs are sturdy, comfortable and look great.

This set looks much nicer than I expected and it's a very sturdy set. My only complaint is that the finish seems fragile, we have tried to use coasters, etc., and wash according to the directions but we still have gotten a few scratches that surprised me. Overall though, I am pretty happy with the chairs and the matching table!
Sturdy and attractive

Looked for sturdy chairs to use daily, as original chairs purchased with dining table literally fell apart. These chairs are quite easy to put together, look attractive, and are very sturdy. After a couple months' use, I retightened all screws. The color was noted as lighter than actual color online, so they are darker than my oak table. However, they were worth keeping.
great chairs with a catch

I gave this four stars because they are really nice chairs. My reason for not giving them a five star rating was because of the assembly....not that difficult, but the screw lengths were a bit confusing and some were longer than they appeared and went through the outside wood causing minor damage.

I ended up ignoring the included assembly directions, which seemed very awkward to me. I found it much easier to loosely bolt the legs to the seat, insert the stretcher bars with a dab of wood glue in the holes, tighten the bolts, and finally screw the stretcher bars in place. Once I figured that out, the chairs went together quickly. The assembled chairs are quite sturdy. Note that the included hardware bag for each chair contained an extra piece of each different kind. If you haven't already seen the reviews for this set on other web sites, beware that the color of the finish is much darker and more red than is pictured. It's basically a reddish "mission oak" or "cherry oak" finish, not a golden oak color. That said, the darker color was what I was looking for and I'm pleased by how well the set matches my other mission-style furniture. Also, beware that the wood is not oak at all, but parawood finished to look like oak.

I have a bunch of random antique chairs around my dining table, but needed a few more. I went with a couple new ones and these blend in nicely with any style. 4 stars because they weren't pre- assembled.
better than expected
