I needed a desk that was not deep. This desk is right under 20" deep and I loved the fact that the desk width is adjustable. The photos do not explain this well, but I found a youtube video that talked about the Infini-T series and showed the desk in many layouts.Essentially, the desk width is adjustable because you can choose where to sit the edge of the desk on top of the separate drawer unit. It can also be built with the drawer on the left OR the right.Caveats:• The instructions are good but require close-up studying, especially when building the drawer unit. It is kind of like IKEA instructions -- mostly pictures, and some of the detail is hard to notice so you really have to study or you'll end up having to re-do parts.• The edge of the desk is not beveled - it is somewhat sharp. It would be uncomfortable for me to use this desk without something covering the edge. Luckily, I have one of the few desk pads that actually comes down over the front of the desk. This is kind of a deal breaker as far as computer desks go -- this is sharper than the edge of a MacBook -- you'll have little creases on your wrists without some sort of edge cover.• The desk is shallow. This means you need to consider your monitor depth -- my monitor is somewhat older and the stand takes up about 5" behind the LCD. Then my older LCD is also thick - about an additional 3-4". This means the monitor is WAY too close to my face at the desk. I mounted the monitor on the wall but that won't work for most people. This really is a better desk for a laptop than a monitor. iMac might work, but double check.Quality seems on par with price. It is NOT solid wood - it if MDF. The wood veneer seems somewhat cheap quality due to the sharp edges. I had a $200 [@] MDF/wood veneer desk before this and the edges were not as sharp and not as "obviously glued on"All said and done, I still rate this desk as 4-stars. I needed something that wasn't deep, so that negative I can't hold against it. I also like that the desk height is good - i'm 6'2" and still can sit comfortably. Most of all I like the flexibility to set it up to fit exactly in your space.NOTE: If you buy, I recommend making the desk as it appears in the photo, not the instructions. There is a support piece of wood that goes beneath the desk surface. You can't see it in the photos on this page, but you can see it on the diagram showing measurements. This support bar can go on the front of the desk (which would impede on leg room and also mean you lose the little storage area on top of the drawers under the desk) or can go on the back. Now, here's the thing, the instructions will tell you to put the support bar on the front side. I disagree, as do the pictures on this site. So, I built mine with the support bar on back. This is a great little desk for my kids. We had been wanting to put a computer desk in their playroom but all the childrens desk I could find were cheap looking and could only sit one person at a time. I wanted a simple rectangular desk, like the kind at their pre-school, but websites offering school furniture were charging $350+ for a 2-person desk. This was a great find. It is heavy and very sturdy. It is made of very solid materials. The desk came very well packaged. There is very little pieces to assemble and comes with clear directions. My husband and I had it together in less than 30 minutes. It is the perfect size for my 5 and 4 year old daughters, and there is lots of room for them to grow. My 4 year old's feet don't touch the ground in the chairs (we had to purchase those seperately). There is plenty of space to fit a comuputer, with lots of room to spare. I love that they can both sit at the desk together. All in all, this is a great desk. One other added bonus this desk has over other children's desks, this desk has 2 cutouts in the back for running computer cables through. BRILLIANT! All other desks I looked at, even ones claiming to be computer desks, did not have this feature. My friend is already talking about purchasing one for her daughter. The only downside, and this isn't much to complain about, is we could've had it together a little faster but we noticed during assembly the pre-drilled holes were a fraction of an inch off (a very small fraction), but just enough to where everything did not line up perfectly. I bought two of these desks for my kids' computers (we homeschool, and do quite a bit of their work on computer). The desks don't take up much floor space, and provide adequate space for the computer, accessories, and a small amount of other supplies like CD-ROMs or study materials. Don't plan on using an older monitor on these desks--they're not big enough. You absolutely need a flat-screen monitor. The height of the main portion of the desks is the same as the keyboard tray on my full-size desk, so the keyboard trays on these desks are a little low. Works great for kids, but might not be very comfortable for a taller adult. Both desks had minor damage to a couple of pieces, but nothing that interferes with their functionality. A black Sharpie covered up the small marks that were still visible after the desks were assembled. Assembly was pretty straightforward, except that you need a very strong hand to fully tighten the cam bolts. I need to get my husband to go back and tighten those for me. Overall, I'm very satisfied with these desks for my kids. The price was right for getting the two we needed, and I don't need to stress over the damage kids do to furniture that they use often. The desk has become my primary home work station. I had to move my office into a more public room in my home and wanted something that was not only functional, but attractive. I volunteer with a dog rescue and assist in all aspects so I need room for computer equipment and space to do paperwork ... the desk meets those needs. The desk can easily accommodate a laptop or all in one computer, but not really designed for desktop computing which I did not intend to use. Drawers on both side are the same design with filing space on the bottom and there is plenty of room under the desk to stash supplies. The picture does not show the true color... it is a darker oak than I expected (darkness is more like my cherry wood pieces), but I can live with it since I did not have the luxury of time to go out and shop.
