They are all solid wood, durable, comfortable and attractive. We were not sure about color so ordered one chair and ended up returning it with a better idea of the finish that we wanted. We use them at our kitchen island and they are very comfortable. The only drawback is that they scratched up our hardwood floors, so my husband put felt pads on the bottom of all the legs.
