Great Piece or Furniture...
Talon from Port Orange, FL – Verified Buyer
I was looking for a credenza for my office. I searched Google and in turn several sites. I found a few that I liked, but they were all in the 6-8 hundred dollar range. This one was well suited to my needs and close to a third of the cost. I built professional office systems in past years, so I know good furniture. This piece is well made. This item is not easy to assemble for those who have no experience. If you stick with it, you can figure it out and have a great piece of furniture. Just be patient. I had this built within 1.5-2 hours at a very leisurely pace. The documentation does not show orientation of pieces very well, but otherwise is decipherable if you take your time. The orientation and articulation of most pieces will be obvious and mistakes will show themselves quickly. One exception to this is the main side pieces that the doors will be attached to. Watch out for the pre-drilled hinge holes. It is possible to assemble the entire piece and have the side pieces reversed left and right, putting the hinge holes toward the back of the cabinet. Put the hinges on the doors when you are ready to put the sides together and find the holes the hinges will screw into on the side pieces. Do not put the doors on at this point, just be sure you understand where the holes are. Orient the side pieces so that the hinge holes are at the front of the cabinet and you will not have to partially dismantle it for this small mistake. Two stars for the documentation. The furniture is a five star piece for its value.
Great buffet, horrible assembly
Jen from Brentwood, MD
5 stars for the product, 1 star for the instructions. The buffet itself is very nice. As others have noted, it's slightly darker in person than in the photo. The buffet is very solid and, unlike many assembly required furniture, the drawers slide perfectly. I would give this 5 stars except for the horrible, horrible assembly instructions and ease of messing up. As some background, I have designed and built actual furniture, from scratch, by myself. I have assembled over 100 pieces of flat pack furniture, typically by myself. These are by far the worst instructions I have ever used. The good: each piece of the buffet was numbered (using a red stamp on an unfinished side), the hardware was extremely well packaged, and all of the holes were drilled properly. The bad: everything else. The instructions are just pictures (which seems typical, although seriously, WORDS WOULD HELP). The instructions also change perspective without warning, so sometimes you're viewing the backside of the piece and sometimes the front. It's extremely confusing. The pictures in the instructions do not include all of the holes in each piece, so it's not immediately possible to figure out which side is up, left, right, front, etc. (some of the pieces have an unfinished side, which helps a bit because it's obviously the back). If the pictures of each piece included all its holes, this would not be a problem. Also, the inside side pieces are identical...almost. Turns out I put them on the wrong sides (there's no way to know this from the instructions), so I can't attach the doors and the shelves don't sit on their pegs. Because I followed the instructions step by step, I nailed on the back pieces before I tried to attach the doors. It was then that I realized the side pieces were on the wrong side, which means I can't attach the doors (the holes for the door hinges are way in the back, when they should be in front). Everything fit together perfectly until that point, so there was no indication that I had put the side pieces on incorrectly (all of the holes match up, etc.). I can't take it apart because the back is nailed on and the dowels are glued, so I had to do a little carpentry (drilling new holes for the hinges and making a few new cuts on the shelves so they fit. A simple sticker with front written on it would have ensured that the sides were not put on incorrectly. Without the additional carpentry, this took 2 people a total of 3 hours to put together. Once you figure out that the cam nut screws always go into the pre-drilled holes lined with white plastic and the dowels go in all the other holes, assembly goes much faster (this is true only for the body for the drawers, the cam lock screws go into regular holes).
Great dining cabinet
Roop A. from Laurel, MD
This storage buffet is a great piece for the dining room area. It has good storage space in each section. For instance, I was able to accommodate a detached blender on one shelf of the left-side cabinet. There are three shelves on each side of cabinet (left-side & right-side). The drawers also have a good amount of space as well. I was also able to accommodate wine glasses and martini glasses on both sides of the buffet cabinet (4 wine glasses per row and 3 martini glasses per row). The only reason I am giving this storage buffet a 45 and not 55 is because of the assembly. You really have to look ahead in the instructions to see how each piece is oriented to make sure that it is positioned correctly. The part which I didn't take into account is the left-side and right-side walls just behind the cup holders. If you don't orient those walls properly, you may find that the screw holes for the cabinet doors will be on the far end instead of the front-end. The assembly instructions don't do a good job of illustrating that. On the bright side, each piece was numbered but you have to check all 4 sides to find the numbering. I recommend sorting out each piece and laying them aside, then one by one, bring each piece in when it's ready for assembly (the instructions do highlight this). Once the storage buffet is fully assembled, you will realize its elegance.
greaet piece BUT

IT is a really nice futniture. It fit great with even small apartments. I live in NYC and in 1 bedroom didn't have a lot of space to make from a living room both living and dinning room, but I did manage to do that. This piece was added to it all. LOOK GREAT!!! putting it together- another story! When reading reviews I saw people complaining about it, but the I thought to myself- hey! I bet they wanted to put it together fast and quickly. NO! we were doing it slowly... and it took HOURS!!!! 2 times we had to undo everything and put it back toghether again....AND..... one shelve on the sides are upside down! hahahaha but you can't see it well. IT DEFINITELY WAS WORTH IT. The svelves on the side are not high as it looks on the picuture. They will fit small glasses but my wine glasses do not fit there at all, plus it would hold only 2 of them not 3. Now that the glasses do not fit, I have all those shelves empty and I am not sure what to do with them. For now I have regular glasses in there. the drawers are narrow. I know the item description gives you the messurements, but it is not always easy to imagine it. Overall NICE piece.
Great Product - Bad Instructions
Warren from Barry's Bay, ON – Verified Buyer
This review picture shows a brown Cedric Buffet - the site I purchased the Cedric Buffet also had a brown one. I got a very dark brown/black one!? Doesn't quite match the photo - none the less, I absolutely love the high quality piece I got. It took an hour of studying to figure out the instructions. I had to start off on step 4 to try and figure out step 1. I got the piece to final stages only to find out I missed a step and had it backwards - I had to remove all the finishing nails and start over (I am now a professional finishing nail remover) It was an unpleasant experience - the manual NEEDS to be updated. A few simple additions on the drawings could save so much time and stress - I scratched the finish badly on second attempt putting it together. Proper instructions would have saved this mistake. Pros: Great Quality Piece Cons: Instruction manual needs an update - I could add the drawings to the instructions to make it easier.
Affordable....looks like more expensive piece than it was
Maria from Palm Coast, FL – Verified Buyer
It was delivered as promised and in perfect condition. Assembly directions did not include text. But if you took your time, read the directions thoroughly and laid everything out before assembling, it was not really difficult.. The parts were properly packaged. Most important of all, the holes were all perfectly tooled. Nothing was askew. I'm a 68 year old woman with bad eyes. And I had no problems at all. It took me all day but that's because I work slow and gave much thought to how assembling one section would line up with the next before putting it together. Putting on the doors on could have used some helpful hints in the directions. Noetheless, I managed to do it on my own.......no help. Sturdy, attractive, well made. Takes tim and patience to assemble correctly.
Great looking piece but assembly is challenging.
Gretchen from Noblesville, IN – Verified Buyer
We love our new buffet. I would have given 5 stars if the assembly wasn't so difficult. The instructions are almost exclusively pictures. The pictures need to be larger and need to actually show the precut holes so you can clearly see what goes where. We put the panels the door hinges go on incorrectly. We didn't know this until over 4 hours into the project and until we were about the put on the doors. We were lucky in that my husband just took out his tools, measured and MADE it work. Watch very carefully how things line up and look ahead to the future steps that will involve the piece you're working with. That should help. Took 2 of us 4.5 hours with our snafu! It does look great where we put it and is very functional.
Versitile and functional

I was looking for somewhere to store my china, and if it could store wine glasses too that would be a bonus. When I saw this, I fell in love. If fulfilled both my purposes! When I received it, the assembly was a bit of a pain, but nothing I wasn't expecting. Its a bit darker than it looks in the picture. Because of a defect in one of the hinges, we can't adjust the closure of one of the doors but it still works and looks just fine. The shelves also aren't quite as wide as I'd like. I had to slide in my china dinner plates at an angle, and my china platters flat out won't fit. But for the price it looks nice, and fits the majority of my needs.

We had the need for a buffet/entertainment stand combo in somewhat a small area. It is a great fit for that! I am only disappointed in the height of the side glassware holders that you see on the outside. We were planning to put our entire set of wine glasses in them. But the red and the champagne glasses won't fit. Only the smaller white wine glasses. That was a bummer! Also, the drawers and cabinets are on the narrow side of things. So, it's great for a tight space!
Difficult assembly but finished product is sleek and functions very ell

Plan on spending at least a few hours (3-4+) getting this thing together (and having a drill handy is a definite help, plus a hammer for the back panels) but once you do it is definitely worth it, looks much more expensive than it is (except for the back which you will want to find a way to cover up or have it against a wall). Sliding drawer bottoms don't hold much weight since they're very thin but otherwise no complaints.
