"Hello Sydney, you can measure the height of this Hillsdale Montello Swivel Counter Stool by measuring the seat height from the bottom of the cushion (where it attaches to the base) to the ground. The cushion itself is actually approximately 2.5"."

I purchased two of these a on one of the chairs only 3 of 4 screw holes lined up. They are made in China so this isn't unusual.
