Our existing kitchen chairs had taken quite a beating over 8 yrs ( we have 7 children) and we needed to replace them. Changing the cushions was going to cost anywhere from 50-75 to have a new cushion on an old chair. We opted to buy these new dining chairs instead and are very happy we did. Assembly was a bit tedious but, once assembled, they are very solid and look great in our kitchen. The seat cushions wipe down very well. They are heavy enough that they dont get knocked around easily but not so heavy that theyll injure one of the little ones should they pull the chair over. I needed 5 of these chairs and ordered 6 so I guess a con would be that fact that these chairs only come in sets of 2 instead of being able to purchase them in singles. The chairs are very sturdy and require a bit of assembly. The directions have you tighten the bolts as you add the sections, but after our first chair assembly we didn't tighten all the bolts until the end since the legs were easier to level that way. I agree with one of the other reviewers who said the color should be described as "antique bronze" vs. "old world steel". In the picture of the item the metal appears more silver than bronze. The color doesn't clash in my kitchen with the stainless and brushed nickel so I am happy with the metal color, but I do wish the color had more of a nickel hint to it. Also, the top part of the back of the chair looks like wood in the picture, but it seems that it is some type of composite material. I've only had the chairs for a little over a week, but they seem as though they will hold up well in a busy kitchen."..."  Read more

These are beautiful dining chairs that will class up any casual dining space. The cushions are so comfortable to sit on, you'll be hard pressed to use your couch. I bought the dining table seperate, but if you're looking for dark wood it was an easy match. My only complaint is the assembly. Several of the holes that were pre-drilled to attach the cushions were not drilled all the way through the wood frame. So we had to finish drilling the holes before we could attach the cushions. Once that dilemma was met, everything else was very easy to assemble. We love these chairs and bought them after already purchasing bar stools that match. We were looking for an attractive folding chair for when we have extra guests for dinner. Our trouble was that our table doesnt quite fit enough chairs on each side with standard width (about 17) folding chairs. These chairs are narrower (I think about 14.5), so that 3 on a side gives us an added 7 or 8 inches, just what we needed. Now all the chairs fit under the table and we can fit a couple of extra guests (both sides of table) in comfort. This model is very attractive and so far has seemed sturdy as well. While it may not be appropriate for a very wide person, for most people its a pleasant sit."..."  Read more
