I bought this bed almost a year ago and am very happy with it. It looks very nice and is very sturdy. My biggest issue was figuring out what type of box spring to get, since I was buying the mattress before the bed arrived trying to time the delivery of both to be around the same time. I could not tell if I needed a regular or low-profile box spring. I spoke [@]2 customer service reps from Hillsdale. In the end I got [...] different answers: regular box spring, low-profile box spring and that it does not need a box spring. Well I could tell that it definitely needed a box spring since it is not a platform bed and slats are spaced too far apart. Finally a very helpful Hillsdale rep pulled up the assembly instructions to try to determine how deep the space for the box spring is. She emailed me an electronic copy. After looking at those in detail, we were able to determine that for a mattress that is 14" high if you don't want the box spring to show past the side panel you definitely need a low profile box spring. The regular will stick out by at least 3-4 inches. Hope this will help someone trying to figure this out like I was.To [@]: It would be really helpful to have more details on the products you carry since buying furniture online is such a risky move. This bed is made of heavy gauge metal and is sturdy and the railing is extreme. SIX legs for an extra sturdy foundation for your mattress. Goes together easily. The headboard and foot board are also beautiful to the eye. No loose joints to rattle around. I read a review that said another bed didn't include the railings so I called to make sure and was told they would have to look into that a little more and could they call me back. Within two hours I got a call back confirming the rails did come with the bed. So excellent customer service on top of a quality bed. I will enjoy this bed as much as I would enjoy the original antique."..."  Read more

This was my first order from Wayfair. I submitted a question before ordering to ask if it included the bed frame and I got a fast response that it did. Delivery was fast and it looks just like the pictures. The headboard/footboard arrived first and was simple to put together except for some hammering to get one leg on. The metal was a little bent but it's nothing you can see in the end. The bed frame was surprisingly easy to assemble. We've had it all together for 3 nights so far and love it. I had it rated 5 stars until I remembered the trouble to get one headboard leg on. I'd still order it though!"..."  Read more

For the price, a very good bed. Though it's a platform, I have it on risers so we can take advantage of the storage space for luggage, etc.. The main brace closest to the headboard is easy to mis-install, as is the headboard itself. It has a 'L' and 'R' on it - but that's all relative. I ended up installing it exactly backward, and had to undo and reinstall it later. This actually ended up shredding the sides of the bed, but luckily it was on the 'inside' - so not visible or obvious. It's not a flat support for the mattress, it's these really cheaply made slats. I had to secure the slats with tape to keep them from falling off on their own, randomly. After doing all that, it works well. Smells a little funny, but otherwise no complaints. Bottom line, I'd recommend this to a friend. But you get a decent deal bc it's not the highest quality. It'll last me for 5-10 years, which is what I want for my king size memory foam mattress."..."  Read more
