High Tech Pet Power Pet Door - PX-2/PX-1

This door truly changed our lives (and our dear Beagle's life) overnight. There hasn't been a single accident in the house since we got it... She seems so much happier now that she can go outside whenever she feels like it. No more whining to get out or in, and no more racing home after a long day at work only to find that she couldn't hold it that long... Installation was straightforward (we got the tunnel and installed it in the wall) and fairly easy. Although there was no mention of a need for it, we did caulk the outside to avoid any water damage to the wall... Excellent product. My parents saw it and now they want one, too!

Works great and keeps the house safe. Our puppy loves it. Easy to install and looks clean inside and out.

We live in a very windy place and this is why I purchased this unit. It keeps the wind and snow out of our garage, plus it lets in additional light through the door. Very Happy!

I was so happy with the speed and service of this door. The price was also great! I had ordered the same door from High Tech Pet 3 years ago and every time I order parts it takes forever. They sent me the incorrect part for my door in November and I have yet to get any thing resolved with them. From now on I will order all accessories and collars from PetsByWayfair. The greatest thing we have ever bought for our dogs.....we have had regular dog doors in the past, but they let in everything....they blow open ....the cold comes in ....even the snow come in ....not to mention other critters can come in as well as people. This door was very easy to install....I installed it myself..... and it works great. The babies love it....they can decide if they want to go out or stay in. I would buy it again and I have already recommended it to others. Great Door!!!

Item arrived super fast in less than a week.

I had a problem with a raccoon coming in the house through my homemade flap type cat door. He would come in to eat the dry cat food in a dish in the utility room. Since the opening is fairly small, the raccoon would grow too large to get through, so, no problem until the next generation of young raccoons. I've always allowed our cats to come and go as they pleased, so blocking the flap at night was something I didn't like doing. The cat didn't like it either and would come into our bedroom in the middle of the night and complain. It only took a day for our cat to get used to the automatic door. One night he sat down in front of it and the motor held the door open. After a few minutes the door closed and would not open, either with the collar or by pushing the open button. I thought for sure he had burned up the motor. I unplugged it and let it set for a few minutes. Thankfully it must have a thermal breaker in it that reset. The collar strap is very difficult to undo, so I use a nylon puppy collar with a belt type buckle. To keep the sender unit from coming apart, I use a zip tie around it. So far. So good.

The product is great. This is actually the second one I,ve purchased. The first one was for my cat and I had to put a larger one in after getting a puppy that out grew the smaller door. The door is well manufactured and makes life a lot eaiser. I have nothing negative to say about the door, but your description of the large door is confusing. It makes it appear that it is only 8 inches wide. I noticed that a lot of people had inquired if the measurement were right and the answer was always yes. Already having a small door and looking at the manufactures web page, I went ahead and ordered the door. Some people might not if they think it is only 8 inches wide. Keep your price lower than your competitors and you should sell alot. I know I was pleased to find a reasonable price and free shipping. I paid about the same price for the larger one as I did for the medium size a couple of years ago. Thank you so much

Works perfectly. Installed easily, once I got the hole cut in my wall. That was the hard part. I have a stucco exterior which is essentially like having an inch of concrete on the exterior of my house. Hint, if you have stucco, get a good masonry saw blade or be prepared to go through several regular blades. My dog figured out the door in about a day. I did remove the transmitter on the supplied collar and attached it to the dog's existing collar because I didn't see the point of two collars. The strap connectors on the transmitter are too narrow to fit a standard collar, but I attached it with two nylon zip ties to an outer layer of the dog's existing collar (so the zip ties wouldn't contact the dog's skin and irritate it. Although I have a smaller dog and the transmitter is large, she never had a problem and never gave any sign of even knowing that it is there. I 100% recommend this product.
