I purchased the headboard for our masterbedroom in a king size. It has a dark finish more espresso than bronze but that is what I wanted and it is lovely. I was a little concerned during assembly because the legs of the headboard are about 1/4" off the floor with the bedframe I owned. Since the headboard was not against a wall I thought it might wobble but once the mattress was pushed up against the headboard, the headboard is stable enough to sit up against to read in bed. I will add a couple of shims for extra support under the headboard legs now that I have the bed in the right spot. It was difficult to choose a headboard online without really seeing it and determining the quality of the product. After looking at what seemed to be hundreds of headboards we chose the Hillsdale Oak Tree headboard due to the way it looked in the pictures and the fact that it was real wood, not partical board. It is absolutely beautiful and goes with the other furniture in our guest room. We have a bit of a hodge-podge of furniture in the guest room due to two pieces coming from my wife's family. They are a very light ash wood and the dresser is a light cherry. The oak color of this headboard is in between and helps pull the colors together. The headboard itself goes very well with the rest of the furniture and is well made. We would highly recommend it. This headboard looks great, [...] and was not very difficult to assemble. My only issue is that it does not come in Cal King size. If you have a Cal King bed you must purchase extension plates in order to make the King headboard fit on a Cal King frame. I got my extension plates for $15 from a local mattress store. Also, the extension plates show a little bit on either side of the bed. If you look at the attached photo, the extension plate is the black thing you see on the bottom left of the photo, next to the cord for the lamp."..."  Read more

I was looking for a king sized headboard for the longest time. Hubby likes metal, and I like wood! This satisfies both our tasts! Easy to assemble, however the directions showed and mentioned 'wooden pegs' as part of the hardware. There were no wooden pegs included. There were 2 pieces of wood that were rounded on all 4 corners (the pieces were about 1" x 1.5" in size)and acted as "biscuits' to join the headboard to the legs.
