Hardwood Flooring

With all the time spent standing in a kitchen (and all the things that break when hitting a ceramic tile floor therein), we decided on a floating cork floor. Also the fact that my wife had really major back surgery 8 months ago helped seal the deal! To the bare feet it almost feels like it is heated, which is a real plus. How it will wear long-term? We will see......... Plus, the packaging that came with ours said to leave UNOPENED for 48hours so it can acclimate to the humidity, etc. Fortunately I decided to open a package and on the other side of the label it says to OPEN the package to allow it to acclimate.....That needs to be addressed or there will be some unhappy customers. As with all cork products it is best to keep heavy items off the floor as they will dent or scratch the surface. Put felt protectors on the legs of chairs or furniture. Always put the floor down last after all the other construction and painting is done."..."  Read more

I used this cork floor in both bathrooms that are in upstairs locations. Since the material is flexible, no backboard was required. No worry about movement in the subfloor as this cork will flex with it.
