The drawers slide smoothly and the top pull out is very convenient.... not deep enough for a remote, however. The table IS finished all the way around so it does not need to back up to a wall. The cherry finish is quite dark, much darker than the rest of my cherry furniture, but the color blends nicely. The table was packaged securely and arrived early and unscathed.
