This may not be a Krups or a Cuisinart or any other designer brand name which is why, in my snobbishness, I was hesitant to try it out. But, after reading the reviews, I thought 'why not'. The price was better than the others, it had many of the same features, and to boot, I didn't have to spend hundreds of dollars on a K-cup machine if I wanted single-cup brewing function. Besides, all the other higher-end brands I've tried were just ok (coffee didn't get hot enough, carafe dripped, etc.), so why not try a non-designer one Well, I'm glad to report that I am happy I did. Coffee is hot, the carafe doesn't drip, it's easy to use, and I get single-cup brewing, too. The only drawback is that if you are making a carafe, and want to pour a cup before it's completely done, it doesn't have a pause function. You won't be disappointed with this machine. It goes to show not everything is in a name.
Great Great GREAT!!!

I am not a "Single Cup" coffee drinker, so ordering a Keurig was out of the question. I drink my coffee a pot at a time, usually. I know...it's a problem I'm working on. Anyway, as I researched coffee makers, this Hamilton Beach model was the highest rated and I thought it deserved a look. I've had all kinds of coffee makers in the past, from the single cup variety to the "Order the coffee and get a coffee maker FREE" variety, to other quality machines with a grinder and coffee bean holder already attached. The Scoop Two-Way Brewer is the best I've had so far. I can control whether I want to brew one cup or twelve. I can program it to brew at whatever time I want. There's very little clean-up (rinse out the carafe or cup and replace the filter and you're done) compared to that high-tech grinder model. I have even remarked to people that I have yet to spill a single drop. When pouring water into the brew chamber, in the past, I've always had water spill down the side of the pot and onto the counter or splash off the rim...it can be very messy. Whoever designed the pour spout here deserves some kind of medal! I have used the single serving travel cup feature--once--just to try it out. It seems the folks at HB have thought of everything. The design of the travel cup allows you to leave the lid on while you brew (you will have to remove it to add cream or sugar, if that's your style). There's a little drip pan underneath which doubles as a booster seat to bring smaller mugs closer to the spout or you can remove it if there's a taller mug you wish to use. Finally, the look of the thing--the stainless steel facing with that cobalt blue light...as my dad pointed out, this looks like a "man's machine". I don't know if that's the case, but it's definitely sleek. When I see that blue light glowing in my darkened kitchen, I know I'm going to be starting my morning off right. Great job, Hamilton Beach!

This is a great coffeemaker for making a large pot and a single-serving. I love having both options in one machine. It's more eco-friendly since I'm not using pods or wasting an entire filter for one serving. It brews quickly, the coffee tastes great, and it has the functions I need (like program) without a bunch I don't. Simple, sleek, looks great on the counter. Easy to clean, easy to use.
Love It !!!!!

I love this coffee maker. It brews a nice size one cup of coffee that u can leave in the travel mug for on the go or pour into a coffee mug. It works great for me since I am the only coffee drinker but still needed a full size coffee maker for guest. Most one-cup coffee makers brew small cups, not this one. It come with a placement part for pods (which I dont do) and has a basket for the scoopers. I haven't even used the full size pot yet. Now I don't waste coffee (as much as it cost) brewing it in a full size pot at the 4 cup level and the only person drinking it. Thanks Hamilton-Beach!!!!! It brews it good and hot and auto shut off when done...what more can u ask for....

Just purchased this coffee pot I love it! My hubby likes to drink coffee all day long he had a tendency to make a full pot in the evening waste 12 of it. No more ! If he wants a cup the big pot is finished, he can make his own individual cup it is nice fresh, no more wasting coffee. The coffee is good hot too when it is made. My previous pot had a stainless steel carafe, which is the only thing that could make this more perfect. I have friends who are on Keurig pots 3, they complain they only last about a year. I think the coffee is too expensive for the quantity that we drink. However, we buy good quality coffee. There is an option to use those individual coffee pods for the individual coffeecup if you so chose to use it. But this has a scoop filter for loose grounds that is what we use.
Great quality and affordable coffee maker!

This is a great quality and not over priced coffee maker! I use the single serve when I am alone, and when my in laws are here we use the brewer.and if you've got more company it has an option for that too! I love thAt this coffee maker is not as expensive as those over priced coffee makers in the market which uses only certain brand of single serve cup.. Very durable! Buy it now!
Excellent product. Works as described.

From the first pot of coffee, it brewed excellent. But, I bought it for the single serve side. This side works like a dream. I don't use pods so it took me a little time to figure out how to measure the correct amount of coffee for the perfect single cup of coffee. And finally finally, no plastic taste like my previous Cuisinart.
Excellent product for yourself or when you have company!

This is the perfect coffee maker! I'm the only coffee drinker in my house and the single serve is great! No messy clean up, especially when I'm running in the morning. When I have company, especially over the holidays, the carafe is perfect. A great buy for the money, it's like two coffee makers in one! I highly recommend it!
I absolutely LOVE this coffee maker!!!!
Kim from Woodbridge, VA
I almost exclusively use the single cup brewer. It comes out hotter than other pots, and can make all sizes of cups of coffee. No stringing customers along with proprietary coffee pods Kcups or other rip offs. You just use your own coffee or tea. I am 44 and this is my favorite that I have ever owned.

Hubby loves this coffee pot. He now uses the single serving side every morning to take with him to work. So, he is saving money & time inside of stopping every morning on the way in to get his fresh java shot..He said the single side is so hot that he doesn't drink the whole thing by the time he gets to work in hour compute. He really is extremely happy with this anniversary gift.
