Hamilton Beach 8 Cup Cordless Kettle - 40898

We have used this kettle for just over a week. I bought this after reading reviews of just about every kettle available in the U.S.-this one seemed to be the best liked, and so far it's been great. It boils relly quickly, it's cool-touch, easy to clean, and the only plastic is on the underside of the lid and the filter area, so contact is minimal, although all SS would have been nicer. The lid is hinged in the middle which makes filling easy, and it snaps tight. The auto shut-off works well. We use it several (10+)times a day so it is a busy appliance. I can't think of any way to improve it other than making it all stainless, so if it lasts, it's just about perfect!

Holds lots of water and keeps it pretty hot. Great if you want more than one cup.

EVERY THING WENT WELL, NOTHING TO SINGLE OUT.

We liked the first one so much, we went out and got a 2nd for my wife to use at work. It boils water very quickly and,after 5 months, we've had no trouble. My wife feels that the water capacity is a tad light, but I personally haven't seen that translate into any actual inconvenience. It is stainless inside and out and a breeze to clean. The cordless aspect is indespensible. Others may be as good, but it is hard to imagine that any are much better, especially at the price.
