A) Home direct delivery was attentive and the guys were very careful/helpful. They also took the "box" with them! B) Sofa Arrived in excellent cond. (this time) C) Customer Service acts on all within their control. D)shipping: You should have seen the BOX! E)Once your package is in Home Direct's hands it is safe. The SCOOP: The Gus Modern sofa (Carter Sofa) looks great! I am very pleased: The photos do not do it justice. The fabric ("suide" putty; ask GM for swatchs!) feels great to the hand and the material is pulled and stiched Tight and straight (unlike the photos that look a bit puckered and bulky around the edges). The size is managable ,especially for a condo or other smaller spaces/rooms. Because of its low profile (24" height), its not over bearing in the room. You can change the look of this piece! It comes with three large pillows of the same fabric. These are displayed as back cushions but can be used for anything: with the cushions in place the sofa has a "high" profile; a more convensional look.....Remove the three back cushions and a low profile minimalist piece appears (its dramatic)!! See the Gus Modern website for the "Tightback sofa" this sofa is very similar in appearance and shows the sofa without the cushions. Also, without the cushions in place, the depth of the seating surface is increased by 8-12 inches. Now, you have a day bed! It is a steardy/heavy piece: its all of 200 lbs. The stainless steel frame/legs also match the Delano Chair, but unlike the chairs the sofa frame/legs do not dominate the piece. For the money, you won't find a nicer or more esthetic designer piece.! Stefan
