Installed this on double casement windows in attic since my new tenants plan to allow their kids to play in the finished portion of the space. Used a double-hung guard instead of the standard casement window guard since there was no place to attached at the top and bottom of the window - plus the extending feature enabled me to span two windows at a time. It seems to be sufficient to do the trick as far as protecting the children from possibly falling out the windows. One feature that I was concerned about before buying was how difficult would it be for an adult to open the guard in an emergency. I feel comfortable now that I have seen how the latches work and are marked that all should be fine. I thought the price was a bit stiff but I think the quality of the product and the purpose it serves remediates that. Safety for kids from falling three stories at a cost of under $100 is worth it to me. I am glad I purchased this and would recommend it. Only thing to keep in mind is make sure you know which size you need - you can't put a 21-inch (height) guard over a 36-inch (height) opening and feel safe. This means you may need to buy more than one per window if it is a large window. Remember, these are not returnable!
good window guards

I will certainly sleep better knowing I have these on my windows. I bought total of 11 to put on every single window on the 2nd floor. My windows are floor to ceiling so not having anything was not an option.
GUARDIAN ANGEL WINDOW GUARD
Michael from Marlboro MA
Just to clarify, the Manufacturer of Guardian Angel Window Guards (Automatic Specialties, Inc.) encourages the mounting of our window guards horizontally on single or double hung windows or vertically on casement or sliding windows. We do however, warn that when installing them horizontally on Casement or Sliding windows you must completely cover the window opening so as to not allow a child to climb up the guard to an unprotected portion of the window. Thanks for listening....Michael Kamin - Guardian Angel Window Guards

I have purchased three of these window guards to install in my very large second story dining room windows over looking our lake. People are drawn to the windows to look at the lake and after I witnessed my 4 year old grandson run and hit one of the windows, I realized that not only would he be injured from the glass if the window broke but the second story fall could be tragic. The window guard provides additional security for the windows and they are very easy to remove and reinstall.

We have an adventurous daughter and knew we needed to have additional protection on her windows. We searched around and found that these window guards were the best. Easy to install, easy to open, and are sturdy enough to withstand her tugging on them.

Ok, so I purchased these after having a nightmare while pregnant. We have a four year old and new baby, I have them in each bedroom. Very easy to install and you can collapse them in an emergency very easily, but little fingers won't be able to access or play with them. The color was perfect, and since the bars are horizontal, you home won't look like a prison. Love these

good product easy to use and install but if using on a large window get the highest number of horizontal bars it comes with. I just wish I knew that height runs on the smaller side unless you purchase the extra horizontal bars.
Guardian Angel Window Guard

Easy to install with good directions. Seems strong. I had purchased a different, cheaper model from another site and there were no directions and the quality was not as good as this gate. Much happier with the guardian angel.
Perfect for keeping big dogs safe

We have a large dog who has gone through windows, both screens & plate glass. This stops all of that from happening. I will be ordering more for all of my other windows that he has access too. They actually blend in surprisingly well.
Recommends not for horizontal installation
Shawn from Hooper, United States– Verified Buyer
Great product but the manufacturer now has a notice in the packaging that the product should not be installed with the bars horizontally (as it entices children to climb it). Would have been good to know before purchasing.
