This purchase replaces an identical, well-loved, electric skillet - same make, same model - whose time had come. I deliberately did not buy the glass cover model because I was afraid oil spatters would bake on the glass and then result in a scratched cover when removed. This skillet cooks everything from pancakes to bacon to chicken to chops to potato pancakes wonderfully. Its large size allows you to make large meals and it washes well in the dishwasher. I was looking for the largest sized electric skillet with the lowest price. I am impressed with the quality of the skillet and after reading some reviews I was wondering how 'flimsy' this skillet might be. However, I think the bottom of the skillet is nice and thick and compares better than my old one. It also heats up fast and has been excellent to cook with.
