Grills, Skillets & Griddles

I've had this for a few weeks now, and have really enjoyed everything that I have prepared on it. While comparing this to other indoor grills, I found that some were not happy with the drip cups not being attached as they are in other grills. I do not find this a problem at all. In fact I now am glad that I purchased a grill that comes with the drip cups that are not attached. Burgers and Brats filled up my drip cups rather quickly, and being able to clearly see this, I could change the cup before it overflowed onto my counter. The only thing that has stuck to the grill plates so far was fish, and I blame myself for that because I probably should have applied some non-stick spray, and taken the fish off sooner than I did. I cooked it for 4 minutes, and I'm sure it was done at probably 2 minutes! So far I have prepared Panini's, hamburgers, steaks, chicken, chicken wraps, fish, grilled asparagus, brats, grilled cheese, portabella mushrooms, and breakfast sandwiches. I could fit 2 large burgers and 2 small burgers at one time. The wraps I could fit 3 at a time (needed 4, but they only took about 2 minutes to cook, so the first batch was still warm when the last wrap was cooked separately). The grill held 5 brats. I love it. But it's not perfect. You notice the uneven browning? The heating elements makes a loop on the underside so that the outside of the griddle gets up to temp, but the dead center does not get nearly as high (look at that poor lone paleface in the middle). The solution is obvious: I just don't put a pancake in the center. And I make sure that the griddle heats up completely between batches of pancakes. We get a nice crisp crust and…here's the best part…I can make them faster than they can eat them. I went from cooking 3-4 smallish pancakes on my Circulon to 8 medium to large pancakes. Woohoo! The non-stick surface is simply awesome and clean up is a breeze. The griddle surface will wipe clean after cooking pancakes. After cooking meat (we did pork chops), just let the griddle cool completely and gently scrape off the charred bits with the edge of a plastic spatula. Finish off with dish soap and water. No elbow grease required. The only drawback is that this monster is so big it does not fit into my super deep double sink…makes it a bit messy to rinse. That and I'm a bit of a spaz when it comes to using the sprayer. One thing I would change: If the drip tray were a little bigger, it could fit the temp control, so it wouldn't get lost and tangled up in my drawer."..."  Read more

I am super happy with this griddle. I grew up using a griddle like this one and I really only know how to make pancakes and french toast on a griddle. We have a gas stove and it is so hard to get pancakes cooked evenly on that gas stove! I used my griddle for probably three meals a day for a week straight when it first arrived--that's how excited I was to finally have one. :) I've used it many times and I've never had any problems with it. having had several less expensive versions of this product i can't tell you how great it is to have the Cadillac of grills. it is sturdy and both grill and griddle sides are fabulous..so glad i bought it...this product is exactly as described."..."  Read more
