Greenhouses

Living in Corvallis Oregon, I need a greenhouse to protect plants during the below freezing months from November to April, and to keep hot summer season plants like tomatoes ready and warm until the real hot months in July and August. I have bought greenhouses from this distributor but never the CLEAR one before. I wanted a better look in my garden for summer parties. This fits the bill nicely! It does require a 'bit' more cleanup because the clear plastic can get foggy and dirty but a little garden soap and it cleans up well. I wish the window in the back could be opened/closed from the inside, it is a pain to have to go around the back to adjust the opening, better still would be for it to have a second doorway. In the winter I cover the entire thing with a second layer of plastic as insulation and put a small heater in it keeping temps at approx 40 deg. I was very happy with the easy setup of the Flowerhouse-Clear Planthouse 5' Greenhouse! I needed no assistance and had it ready for use in about 15 minutes. Once I got it setup, I let the greenhouse settle to it's shape before trying to close the zipped door. It has met every expectation I had for it's use. The greenhouse is made of durable and quality material. The zippers are heavy duty. The design is asthetically pleasing. I like that I can move it around by myself. I had to replace a similar unit, and this one is more attractive and easier to access the interior, and has more user-friendly details such as the hold-down spikes, the screen+plastic zipper doors. But I am a little uncertain about how to use the velcro strips to fold up the screen door, and how to secure to bottom netting to the house. This is my second Spring Gardener greenhouse. Last year I bought the 6 c 8 and it and a space heater kept my tropicals alive all winter in really good shape. Because I have added many more tropicals this year I needed a larger greenhouse. It arrived in a timely manner, went up easily (remember we built on last year so we did have a clue)and we are very happy. One problem ...the windows would not close at the bottoms. I have contacted the manufacturer, Jewitt Cameron and they are shipping me new sides for the greenhouse. Fortunately it is not COLD yet and the sides will easily switch out in about 20 minutes or less. I enjoy doing business with companies that stand behind their products and are happy to provide good customer service. Jewitt Cameron is a company I will promote to my friends and family because they do provide a great product...and if it isn't great, they will make it great! When my new sides arive in a few days I would change my rating to 5 stars!"..."  Read more
