My design engineer husband set it up. I never could have. It took him about 12 hours. He had to work around some pieces that did not fit together perfectly. I went ahead and finished the wood and metal hinges with polyurethane. It is much sturdier than those I've seen with aluminum struts, and much more expensive. Attached to the back of the house and capable of protecting lots of plants during the winter cold. It was easy to assemble, fit together nicely, and is an attractive addition.
