We purchased three of this model. Although they are clearly suited to their purpose, and these barrels are quite adequate for the likes of Florida rains for collecting large amounts of rainwater, draining the contents has proved to be quite difficult. At first we thought that there must be something blocking the spigots, but we have been unable to get more than a trickle from any of the three without tilting the barrel almost parallel to the ground! We built elevated stands between 18 and 24 inches to promote water flow. We had hoped to raise and then attach soaker hoses for plantings nearby. I suspect it will be necessary to leave a watering can underneath overnight just to fill by morning! Our true purpose was to keep gutter drain spouts from dumping water at the foundation of our home. I guess that has been achieved. We just hoped for more.

I actually bought two of these rain barrels because the first color I bought was not quite right ("Granite" is a good bit lighter than the picture shows--good to know beforehand so you don't have to figure out whether to pay ridiculous shipping to send it back). I ended up selling it on a forum similar to Craig's List with no trouble, because it's the most handsome rain barrel on the market, and I ordered the black one. So far, so good. The material does seem to flex and expand when filled, but as far as I know, that's the way it's designed. I'm hopeful that this will hold up and look nice for a long time. Four stars only because the picture did not accurately depict the color, which caused me some inconvenience.

It solves my problem really well, but it is not too easy to clean up that piece inside. It will work really well for you to collect some water but will not hold water (it will overflow) because of intense continuing rain or pouring rain .The opening for hose is too small to drain all water quickly so be prepared .

We hooked out air conditioner condenser drain to an outside down spout from our roof. This set-up provides at least 10 gallon of non-potable water daily. We have used this all summer to keep our plants alive here in drought-stricken Austin, TX. This is an EASY to do hook-up & solution of getting the most from your air conditioning system.
Stylish and Functional

I think that the rain barrels look very nice. They serve a great purpose, but are also stylish. One comment to make is that if you would like to use the spout to fill a water can (as opposed to hooking up a hose), you will need to elevate your barrel as the spigot is not far from the ground. My only real negative here is the plastic bag the screws and such came in. We ordered two of these and both bags were ripped. A few screws and other items fell into the barrel, but some were missing. No big deal really, but just a heads up. Overall, we are very pleased with this product and would recommend it.
Does the job!

We wanted a rain barrel that looks good as it will be near the front door. This rain barrel looks great! When full it bulges out somewhat making it look like it may burst, but there have been no leaks. I don't care for the plant basin at the top because even though it has drainage holes, there is still some water left in it after it rains (a breeding ground for mosquitoes). Will add another drainage hole. We also put an overflow hose in the back for the runoff when the barrel is full.

Both barrels have been a huge help in storing rain water. So far they have withstood all of the seasons and temperature ranges our area experiences. I'm very satisfied with both purchases.

The rain barrel was an awesome buy. Worth the cost. I have it hooked up, it took my husband about half an hour. We used the connecter/diverter (bought separately) to attach the gutter. My only issue is wanting to hook it up to a soaker hose, so far I'm unable to find one that works very well without the water pressure.

This rain barrel seems like a good size. We build a stand for it so we could get a water can under the faucet. It was completely full after 15 minutes of medium to heavy rain. We have since ordered a diverter that can be switched from the rain barrel to the ground so it won't keep trying to add water to the barrel. This barrel does bulge when it's full. All the sides become convex. I assume long term this will cause the plastic to wear down, but so far it's held up well.

Attractive and as described. It wouldn't be advisable to actually plant in the top area since there is no drainage. It works well for pots. The spigot works well. It's difficult to rate this because the real test will be to see if it lasts several years.
