Only lasted a year from Illinois on 07/08/2013
I bought one of these in the spring of 2012 to collect rain water for our vegetable garden. It worked ok at first but the drain lets out the water at barely a trickle. As I filled it with water this spring (2013), the barrel never seemed to fill up. One day I finally turned it over and there was a very large crack on the bottom of the plastic where all the water was leaking out. I contacted the company (Good Ideas) and sent pictures of the defect near a seam and a copy of my receipt. I was the told that it was out of warranty and that all they could do was offer me a discount on a new one. I believe it was only a month out of warranty. So I want to warn anyone considering the purchase of this unit that the company does not stand behind their product as they are very strict about the 12 month warranty. If they wanted to act in good faith, they would have replaced it. The discount on another unit was worthless as I wouldn't want to throw away good money for a potentially defective product a second time. Please beware that this may not last more than a year.

Wrong color was a great twist of fate from Linn Valley, KS on 09/18/2014 – Verified Buyer
Really like the look of this rain barrel. Liked it so much I ordered a second one. The brass spout is great. Most rain barrels have plastic spouts. They did ship the wrong color but I liked it better then the one I had ordered. I ordered the terra cotta and received the granite on both orders. Loved the granite so I kept them. We did add another small hole on the top and put a screen over it to let the water in faster and keep the planter from overflowing.

Rain barrel saves on hose water use from Georgetown, DE on 09/15/2014 – Verified Buyer
Be sure to order a connector to the downspout and plan to put the rainbarrels high enough so that you can fill a watering can from the low-to-the-ground spigot. I love saving the rain from our downspouts and using it to fill our watering cans for all our patio potted plants.

Rain barrel from VA on 05/07/2014 – Verified Buyer
Looks great and works well! This is my first rain barrel so I can not compare but this one has measured up to my expectations. I use it to water plants and have attached a hose to fill up my small pond, it is slow due to lack of pressure but anything that helps lower my water bill makes me happy. I have had this about two months and it is already full. With the flat back the rain barrel sits a couple inches from my house and the gutter lines up nicely. I am thinking about buying another one and would recommend to a friend.

Wonderful Qualiy Product from Mooresville, NC on 07/02/2015 – Verified Buyer
Hooked one barrel to a front downspout where a lot of rain comes off a large portion of our roof in front and another to a back downspout where the rain comes from two different portions of our backyard roof. Easy to install. After the first thunderstorm they were both full! Hooked the third one up to a downspout on the side of our house the other day. The large 65 gallon capacity is particularly nice to have during drought conditions. Water is very expensive in our area, and I have been watering all my plants in the front yard as well as the backyard with the rain we have received for free! I have been saving one gallon jugs as well in our shed, and when the barrels still contain water and a thunderstorm is predicted, I simply drain the barrel water into the jugs and let nature refill my barrels. I use the jug water first to water my plants, then the refilled barrels. These barrels appear to be sturdy and well built, so I expect that they will last for many years. Well worth the money in water savings. Pros: Durable, Very attractive, Can hold a potted plant in top Cons: Need to drill a few more holes in the top to accept the rushing water from the downspout (easily done).

Good quality product, minor problems from NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX on 04/07/2015 – Verified Buyer
This is my second Rain Wizard 65 gallon rain barrel. The first one set up easily and filled up in a half hour of steady rain on a 300-sf roof area. This one, however, gave me fits trying to get the brass tap/faucet to thread into the plastic body properly. It leaked pretty badly until I went to the hardware store and bought a PVC fitting and a new faucet, and triple-wrapped the threads with plumbers tape. Now it holds water perfectly, so I'm deliriously happy. I would recommend the manufacturer consider a more robust interface between the barrel and the faucet. Pros: Good value, easy to set up. Cons: Needs a better interface between the barrel and the faucet.

Just what I wanted! from Burnet, TX on 09/22/2014 – Verified Buyer
This is the perfect rain barrel. A great size and color. We were getting new gutters, so I bought 6 rain barrels to go on all around the house. They have tubing in the back (flat side) so you can piggyback them to add on extras, if needed. Also comes with a nice brass spigot.

Good from brookeville, MD on 07/25/2013 – Verified Buyer
We ordered two of these. They do what they say, they catch rainwater, but there are a couple things that I'm not in love with. The pressure of the spigot is ok but don't expect to full anything fast, especially as it empties. The other main concern I have is that there isn't any easy way to set it up for overflow, the water just comes out the back right into the side of the house. Not good long term. But for now, these will work for extra garden water.

Good heavy duty 65 gallon rain barrel. from Brandon, MS on 11/16/2015 – Verified Buyer
This rain barrel has a good design. I do not use the planter on top as I do not want soil nutrients draining back into the collected rain water. I use the collected rain water to water orchids. Putting the spigot on takes patients and a little physical pressure to get it into the threaded plastic ring (the reason for 4 stars instead of 5). I currently have a very small leak at the spigot but it is probably due to not putting enough plumbers tape around the spigot threads. The plumbers tape comes with the rain barrel. I do plan to purchase another one of these as you can connect barrel to barrel with plastic tubing that can be purchased at Lowe's or Home Depot. Pros: Design, heavy duty plastic Cons: Getting the spigot attached to the rain barrel takes a little work and patients.

Beautiful rain barrel from Mankato, MN area on 04/28/2015 – Verified Buyer
This rain barrel is a beautiful design that complements our front yard. It is nice-sized and the khaki color almost matches our house. It will look even nicer with a planter on top. This is our 2nd rain barrel (other one bought through a county recycling program), so installation wasn't difficult, though we did have to buy a diverter kit for about $25. We also bought a piece of plastic hose and used one of the holes on the back (normally used to connect multiple rain barrels) to divert overflow to an area of bushes to the front right side. My only real complaint is that I wish it had a bigger screened opening at the top, for cleaning and checking water level. Pros: Beautiful design, planter top and larger size than most found in our local stores. Cons: Doesn't include diverter, and could use a larger hole on top for cleaning and checking water lever.
