I am actually very happy with this rain barrel ! It is working out wonderfully for me. The size and the quality are both great and exactly what I was expecting.

I love this rain barrel BUT I immediately changed the hard plastic sieve that covered the inlet for the water as it was not letting the water in. I had a piece of soft flexible screening thatIcut to size and used the screws to fix it in place. Now it works like a charm. Because it is big and the outlet is rather far down there is good water pressure to hook up a hose. I will buy another for sure.

This is very large and is perfect for holding a substantial amount of water, as smaller ones can fill up too quickly. The best part is that it blends in so perfectly that it is not noticed and just seems like part of the garden. Both fittings are solid brass and are perfectly situated for dual use.
Good Ideas Impressions

This 90 gallon rain barrel is everything we expected. The color is just as the photo shows. So far we have had three storms, the barrel is still not full! I loved how easy it was to set up! Only thing I did not like is that I did not order another one. If this is on the website next year we will order another one. Great value!!

I attached this to a gutter in a town that does not want rain water to go their sewer! It works really well! I enjoy watering my plants with the water! Looks great with greens hanging over the edge to soften the large size of the barrel! The planter is large enough for geraniums also!
Practical and good looking

This rain barrel is sturdy and good looking. Practical because is has 2 faucets at different heights. Only drawback is that it cannot be opened up to be cleaned, even though it's not easy for any mud or leaves to enter the barrel.

Very happy with size and look of barrel. Not sure about the planter on top. It rained hard before I had a chance to put any plants. It filled with rain. Don't know if plants with survive if that area hold water.
Very poor design

I just went through my first big rain storm since setting up the rain barrels. I can't believe how poor the design is. The mesh cover is intended to keep mosquitoes out, but is so fine that it actually blocks water from entering the barrel when there is a heavy down flow of water. Water is actually diverted either to 1) an outer rim so that water is moved away from opening and onto the ground, or 2) into the absolutely useless planter which makes it a mosquito haven since it doesn't completely drain away. Kind of defeats the purpose of a rain barrel. Regarding the planter, too much water enters the planter to be used for anything other than bog or aquatic plants (I am guessing) since anything else would drown.

I have not yet been able to try out the rainsaver as we still have frozen snow on the ground. What I can say is that i truly like the style as it resembles a large tree trunk and I have plans to place it near our garage where I have several apple trees that need water during the dry season. The higher spout is placed just right where a bucket would easily collect the water from the barrell. I actually need to use the lower one to give an honest opinion about it. Can't wait to try it out.
