Gold Bond 8" Coil Mattress
A great platform bed mattress
Customer from Philadelphia, PA
We have been happily sleeping on our gold bond 8" fulton mattress nightly for a month now. It is a great compromise for us between the firmness i like in a bed and the softness that my fellow sleeper prefers. It was easy for us to carry up the steps of our small row house--not too heavy and bendable enough. It is a big step up from our old mattress. I can't speak to how it would be in a fiton used mainly for sitting, but as a sleeping mattress, it is great.
Doesn't feel like a futon when sleeping

This mattress is used daily. Sometimes day and night as son works overnight and daughter-in-law sleeps at night. They say it doesn't feel like a futon when sleeping on it and doesn't feel like a mattress when used as a couch. They love it.

I love the way this sits.Replaced an old mattress. I use the futon for a sofa in my man cave and it sits great. I have laid on it a few times but haven't slept on it. It is comfy.

I use this futon every night. I waited 5 months to write my review to see if it holds up to steady use. It does. My back has stopped hurting and my favorite place to be is in my bed at night - so comfortable. I'm trying to get my husband to buy one for himself. It's very firm but conforms to my lower back, shoulders, etc. in different positions. At the price I feel like a very shrewd shopper!
Take a chance on this

This is my primary mattress. I decided to take a blind chance on one with coils, and I've liked it.
Good sleep - good sit
PDX reviewer from Portland Oregon
We bought this mattress to replace an older one because we had a baby on the way and needed space for parents in law to sleep. Everyone, including my husband, swears that this is a great mattress. Very comfortable to sit on as well.

People in the late 1800's were much like we are today. Folks needed their rest after a long day's work. Good sleep has always been the goal for centuries. But a really comfortable mattress? That was a fairly novel idea back in times when mattresses were mostly known as "lumpy". Gold Bond changed that standard, and started a future filled with happy, well-rested customers.
By the end of World War II, Gold Bond was delivering mattresses throughout the East, adding prestigious establishments, leading universities and posh hotels to their clientele. By then, the company had been blending its own cotton for 30 years and a "GOLD BOND" mattress had become an essential bedroom centerpiece. The quality was obvious to fussy homemakers. The comfort was welcomed by weary executives and hardworking tradesmen.
In time the company's contract and retail business continued to grow. People knew the Gold Bond name, so they demanded it. Quality and comfort were always being refined. By now steel innerspring technologies were dominating, yet Gold Bond's pure cotton and hand-made features were beginning to stand alone.
Today, Gold Bond is not only known as a superior quality leader in the mattress industry, it is also world renowned for making the finest futon mattresses. And for starting something entirely new, the modern futon.
