Gliders

We had looked at the measurements of this glider for our nursery and thought it would work out well. There are a limited number of white gliders available out there and most are over $700 for the set. We are both tall (he's 6'2" and I'm 5'8") and this glider is very tight and small for us. However, the price is so good and the colors are perfect!! The cushions are stiffer so we pulled the bottom cushion out since the ties are so long and the back cushion up and my mother made a keepsake bolster pillow (this made the new Grandma happy!!) and put it in the bottom back for support. So the pillow filled the "hole" we made at the bottom back where the other two cushions would have met and now it's much cozier for us tall parents. I ordered this glider for my daughter's nursery and have only had it a couple of weeks, but I love it. It looks beautiful, is sturdy, is very comfortable to both me and my husband (I'm 5'2", 120; he's 6'5", 210), and it glides smoothly. My husband assembled it rather quickly with no complaints. The reasons why I gave it 4 stars are 1) the color isn't as dark as I expected black cherry to be, but it still works well with the classic cherry furniture, which is hard to find a match for; and 2) I wish it had side pockets, which isn't a huge deal, but other gliders by this brand do, and it'd be nice. easy to assemble, touchably soft micro fabric. i'm pleased with the cushion's comfort level. the "beige" color is in my opinion closer to an olive/light green tone, and darker than pictured (looks cream in the picture), while the cabernet wood color is lighter than shown in the picture. for me, this proved to be a positive thing. the finish does seem a bit on the cheaper end of things - underneath it is unevenly/carlessly applied, but this is not noticeable to the average eye. i love the lock feature on the rocker. this makes getting in and out safe and easy for a 9-mo. pregnant lady! i would have been happy to just get the glider w/o the ottoman, as it has already proven too enticing for my 2 and 4 year old children, who keep trying to rock on it and either end up capsizing it or falling off. i worry about little fingers getting trapped in it. overall, i'm pleased with this purchase, and think it is a good product for the price."..."  Read more
