I wanted a glider when my son was born but his bedroom in the house we were in wasn't big enough so I held off. Now that we're in a new house we have enough room for it, and he's only one-year-old so I thought he would still enjoy it for storytime and comforting. I was originally going to buy a cheap model but every review basically said that they look great but after a few months of use they start having issues with noise and wear. There weren't a lot of reviews for this company's chairs, but all of them were good. I'm glad I took the chance because I love this chair. The directions are "IKEA-style", meaning few words but lots of diagrams. Even so, I was able to put it together in under an hour by myself, with my one-year-old crawling over and picking up every part that I needed! The chair is super smooth, very comfy and completely quiet. If you're debating on whether to get one that locks, definitely do! Not only does it make getting up easier, but my son loves to explore all the crevices of anything mechanical and he definitely would have pinched his fingers by now if the chair didn't lock.
