George Kovacs Madake Swing Arm Wall Lamp in Matte Brushed Nickel - P266-1-603

First of all, I agree with the review regarding difficulty of changing the bulb. The bulb blew out after about 2 months of infrequent use. I purchased replacement lights and then attempted to change the bulb. The tool included was simply incapable of doing the job. I ended up taking the bulb out with a pair of needle-nose pliers - they actually fit in fairly easily and there was enough room to grasp only the metal part of the bulb as per the instructions. Replacement wasn't horribly difficult though it took some maneuvering. Turns out the lamp itself was dead. Too bad such a lovely lamp is so very poorly made.

I got two of these to use as task lights next to bookcases - They can be extended from the wall to browse through a book and folded flat when not in use. The pro is beautifully constructed lights with plenty of adjustments. particularly liked that the housing of the lightbulb had an adjustment to get it level. The (possible) con is that that this is not an extremely bright light, something I was aware of from other reviews. This worked for our application

Looks very nice. Perfect light for reading. I bought two of them for above my bed. Just right. You can't tell from the picture but they do stick out of the wall about an inch and a half. It doesn't bother me but it might for some people. [...]

It is a reading lamp essentially - don't expect to light a whole room - that is not the intended purpose.Like another reviewer, I had something 'blow' on one of my two lamps. It is not the transformer but is most likely the ballast, which is a common occurrence with a fluorescent bulb.[...] Great product.

Very difficult to insert or change bulb. Must use a tool that is third rate and doesn't grab properly. Transformer blew out after one week. Don't have original box so had to buy a new lamp because of one part. Shoddy, poor lamp overall.

We installed 2 over the head of the bed to free up night table space and to have the flexibility to extend the lighted area. My husband loves it for reading in bed. When propped up in bed with light extended to max, I find it just a bit underlighted, but love the design, and the ability to fold it so that it appears unobtrusive on the wall. It blends nicely with the decor in the bedroom.

I bought two of these for above my bed and they work very nicely.

While the design is fabulous, and fits well in our house, I wish that it had specified that the only compatible bulbs are flourescent. It gives tech specs about the bulb (T5?) which I didn't realize would be such terrible light. They were to go in our bedroom, but now we can't install them there. [...] we didn't know that they were yucky light....so now we can't return them, and are stuck with these lamps. Very disappointing.

We put this over my 9 year old son's bed for his reading light at night. It works very well for us. [...] It is attractive and modern looking. The arm swivels in and out easily and the light bar moves up and down. I would have liked the light bar to be able to move/tilt forward and backwards also, but it does not do that. Minor want, but overall, we are extremely happy with this purchase. [...] Happy Shopping!
