"Hi Kerry. Xenon bulbs give a bright white light like halogen bulbs without the UV (ultraviolet light), which makes these the ideal bulbs for highlighting sensitive fabric or artwork. Xenon bulbs can be handled with bare hands with no effect on lamp life and are more tolerant when dealing with unstable voltages resulting in longer life. The vertical filament design distributes light evenly. Unlike halogen, xenon bulbs do not create shadows or rings on glass shades. Filled with low-pressure xenon gas."

Great bedside reading lights

Great lights - well made. Everything you need is included in the box, including 3 bulbs (2 Xenon, 1 compact florescent.) The only thing that is not obivous is that the chrome cord cover is only 18 inches.
