These are a great replacement for 2 ordinary recessed cans that were originally over our kitchen peninsula. While we do have a bit less light in this area due to the fact that the pendants hang down, they look very pretty and stand out as soon as you enter the great room. The crystals in the cut-outs are quite unique. And the quality of light from halogen bulbs just can't be beat - this version has them, the larger has incandescent bulbs. Can't comment on the durability yet but definitely satisfied with the look for the price.
