James Kilburg was first inspired to make the Geochron in 1962 after while being overseas he was awoken by his wife who called him at two in the morning not realizing the true time difference. After that incident James decided he needed to create the world’s first accurate time machine. In 1963 the first Geochron was born. For years James was making the Geochron only when ever people called him and requested one to be built. Then in 1984 James Kilburg Jr. bought the company from his father and moved the companies headquarters to Redwood City, CA. Since then the company has grown and become international but little has changed about the actual Geochron, which is still the same as it was when first built.
