We got this gate to separate the upstairs and downstairs in a non-standard corner staircase. The flexibility of the design, and the ease of installation are two of the best features of this gate, and were as advertised. The gate opens and closes flawlessly, simply by walking through and letting it return to closed position. We have a well behaved pooch that wouldn't try to push past a closed gate, and we really got the gate to keep our Kitten of destruction downstairs when we leave the house. I don't know what took me so long to get this gate. I have struggled with other gates for 4 years with stepping over the gate and then sometimes falling, and then thought I would try this PEt Gate. It is heven sent. I would reccommend this to anyone who has a pet in the house. It is so easy to put up and there is now tools you need. It is so easy to just lift up the top and open to go through. We have 2 of these pet gates in our home--1 at the front so they can't run out front door, and one at the back so we can open doorwall and still have a barrier that keeps them from reaching the screen. It's the perfect height, allowing us to step over without moving it. It can be placed anywhere--even keeping our guys out of the kitchen when we're cooking. Love it! We have one stationary gate that works well as a barrier to the cat's room. But the freestanding gate is really the way to go. Get it! You won't be sorry. P.s.
