It's hard to find a pet gate to span my very wide entrance to the living room, where I do NOT want my dogs hanging out. I also didn't want to permanently attach anything to the walls, or have to dismantle the gate to let people through into the room. This gate is extra wide, and I was attracted to the 'slide' feature. The quality is very nice; it looks good in the house - like furniture, not like a utility gate. It is very stable (at least for my Chihuahua & Cairn terrier). The only drawback is that the 'slide' action is difficult to manage. It does not move smoothly at all & needs to be wiggled & fiddled with every time; kind of frustrating. I will try lubricating with PAM & see if it helps. It might work better when not extended to full length, as mine is."..."  Read more

I love my pet gate ! its perfect . You can make it fit to your width of opening, because its securely attached to the wall,;; or in my case a door way its strong none moveable, and the latch locks in place .pull back the lock and walk in to your kitchen without your pets behind you. The height is perfect too no jumping over also when people come to my home they see the attractiveness of my gate making my home look that much more appealing.As for the material of the gate I really like because my pet was at first chewing and scratching at it, left very little marks, wood ,would of being ruined."..."  Read more

I have been looking for a reasonably priced gate like this one for several years but havent bought one because of the prohibitive price--most being over 200 and even over 300. The price of this gate is great and so is the quality. It looks like a piece of furniture instead of a cheap pet gate. The ease of which it opens and closes to walk through and the simple latch makes this a steal at the price of 139. I highly recommend this gate to prospective buyers. We have 2 of these pet gates in our home--1 at the front so they can't run out front door, and one at the back so we can open doorwall and still have a barrier that keeps them from reaching the screen. It's the perfect height, allowing us to step over without moving it. It can be placed anywhere--even keeping our guys out of the kitchen when we're cooking. Love it! We have one stationary gate that works well as a barrier to the cat's room. But the freestanding gate is really the way to go. Get it! You won't be sorry. P.s.
