Would recommend safe Product Review Safe arrived in good shape. No problem in changing combo. Can't say how it will do in a fire and hopefully will not have to put it to the test. It is perfect for what I was needing. Service Review Arrived in good time and good shape. |

Great construction & security but ... This item is, by far, the most solidly built, secure safe you'll find for the money. The only thing preventing me from giving a 5-star rating is the instructions that accompany the safe. They are just awful. It took me about 10 tries to open the door for the first time. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS VERY CAREFULLY. The combination lock on this safe is not like the old Master brand combo paddlocks we used in school! The difficulty comes in deciphering the number of rotations required to dial in the next digit. For example, the instructions read: "Turn the dial to LEFT three times. pass through the first two times and next set the number at notch." It should say: "Turn the dial to LEFT, pass through twice, then set the number at the notch." Once you understand the correct number of rotations for each digit (three for the first, two for the second, one for the third, and none for the fourth), it's fine. However, if this sounds confusing, you may want to consider spending the additional $$$ for the digital keypad. Note that the key is not an over-ride for the combination lock – BOTH are required to open the safe. One additional comment: the instruction sheet for mounting looks like a 6th generation photocopy. The illustration is useless. C'mon guys. It's not that difficult to provide legible, clear instructions these days. Hire a free lance tech writer and buy a $100 laser printer! Despite my criticism here, I would recommend this safe to anyone looking for a low-cost, well-built, secure fire-safe. Reading some of the reviews associated with competing brands scared me away -- many mentioned questionable workmanship that resulted in lock failure and/or damage during shipping. Gardall is a solidly-built, no-nonsense product that does what is claims. |

Nice Safe Use as home safe - easy to bolt down - my error - not quite big enough for my needs, but great for cash & small documents. |

[...] The product is fine but [...] the heaviness for an 84 year old woman was a bit much. Understanding the lock was confusing. Turn 4 3 2 1 times turned into 3 2 1 0 on the next line. Took half a day to figure that out. |
