Oh, I love my new food waste disposal. I had one for over 20 years before I moved to Ontario, and was without one for the last 8 years. Now that I'm in a new home, it was one of the first things I ordered. I couldn't install it myself, and unfortunately had to hire a plumber and electrician. But that was the only downfall. I'm not a "composter", and living in an urban area, I don't just dump my garbage in the ground somewhere, so having this disposal will cut down dramatically on the garbage I take to the street each week. It will also cut down on the smell that attracts wasps and flies. My kitchen feels more complete with the disposal...like a room that actually works FOR me. I couldn't afford the type that will only run when the sink plug is in, but if you can, then you can guarantee that nothing "slips" in while it's working (like a stray spoon or knife). First garbage disposal installed in our home so I can only compare it to some of our friends. Definitely quieter than the Badger series and more efficient.
