Exhausts battery before nightfall
William from Winnsboro, SC– Verified Buyer
This product is well made and stylish. It is easy to install. If you are replacing a large old-style lamp you will be surprised how small this one is relative to the diameter of the pole. My only complaint is that it illuminates much too readily. When a cloud passes overhead during daylight hours, the light will come on and stay on until the sun comes back out. The light triggers on before dusk and long before it is needed for night time illumination. Depending on how cloudy it is during the day, the light will exhaust itself around the middle of the night because it drains the battery before lighting is actually needed or desired. To be fair, maybe other lamps also have such a hair trigger, and maybe some adjustments by the engineers can adjust the sensitivity of the on-off device in future models. But until this is done, don't count on light all night except when the previous day was very sunny.
Stylish but not bright

This lamp was shipped quickly and has worked out well to replace my old outdated lamp post fixture. The electrical wiring was going bad on my old man post so this solar one worked out perfectly. It came with all the parts and I just screwed it on the old lamp post and it charges itself in the sun every morning. It doesn't seem very bright but I also have a really bright front porch light, so it does the job and looks good for cosmetic purposes.
Just what I was looking for

I have been looking for several years to replace an old gas lamp with a solar fixture. I had a hard time finding one but I am very happy with this light. It gives off a nice amount of light without feeling like you have a spot light on your house. It is decorative and pretty and very easy to install.

Bought this to replace an old gas lantern. It looks great. When fully charged, it does give off a fair amount of light. Seems to fade earlier in the night than I would prefer, but overall, very nice.
