I bought this futon for my living room because the staircase into my apartment is too slim to fit a bigger couch. I purchased this futon to go in my den for seating and for extra sleeping area for when the kids come home. It is going to work great, it is a little stiff but I am sure that will relax with use, the tilt mechanism works well and the upholstery seems to be good quality. I'm happy with this purchase. It's good as a couch for extra seating. It's almost a "black" brown color. I bought this for an office and for extra sleeping for company, however, it's not as comfy for sleeping and will really need a mattress pad of some sort to get rid of the uncomfortable middle crease when it's laying flat.
