I was a little hesitant to spend the dollars on this pan, but it was well worth it. I was fed up with dealing with oil splatter (I tried splatter screens, covers, forget it) and did not want to have to continue to clean my entire stovetop just to cook one small piece of fish or burger. I have to tell you the first time I used this pan, I was waiting for the smack, crackle and pop and it was amazingly quiet and wondered what was going on...guess what it was cooking my food with no mess in about half the time I normally waited. Everything I hoped it would be. Cooks evenly, easy to clean and keep clean. With other non-stick pans, no matter how well I cleaned them, I'd get a film build up around the lower edges of the pan. Although I am an All Clad fan, I discovered Swiss Diamond at a cooking class in downtown Charleston. I asked the guest chef what pan are you using to sear? He said "This is a Swiss Diamond pan and we all use this pan for searing" I bought the grill pan and this 12.5 fry pan and gave them for Xmas presents to my daughters who LOVE them. You can heat this pan to some 700 degrees without scorcing or damage."..." Read more

This is a highly-durable non-stick pan (you can use metal utensils) which can cook a LOT of food. I use it on an induction stove, and it's just terrific. It's also oven-proof (but not broiler-proof.)
The non-stick coating extends to the outside, and it's the easiest-to-clean pan I've ever owned -- not even grease sticks to it. If you wanted to make a point, you could probably clean it with nothing more than a dry paper towel.
