I have recently, gotten into "simplifying my life. I stumbled upon a One Pot cook book. Since I work long hours each day, I like to make a meal and have less to clean after wards. I ordered the 15.25 Lodge skillet so that I have plenty room to cook all my ingredients in steps and in one pan!
It is "pre-seasoned" and ready to use right out of the box. However, you should use it on the heavy side for about a month or two before cooking acidic foods. It is said that use of acidic foods in these types of cook ware tends to strip the season off and make your food taste like the material of the cook ware. I did not know this and made a meal containing tomatoes. I must say that I tasted no difference in the food--but I have decided to cook in it longer before I do acidic ingredients again-just to take care of it.
Clean up is a snap and all you do is wash it out with a synthetic type-scour pad -USE NO SOAP- and use hot water. Put vegitable oil on a paper towel and just wipe all over inside and out and store.
Get a lid for you size----it is great for slow cooking. No need to get those pricey ones with bright enamel colors (unless you want to treat yourself)
This is a great buy and price!"..." Read more
