I have had electric woks in the past, and was unsuccessful in keeping one running as long as I desired. So, I solved that problem, I got this one to use on my kitchen stove. It is heavily constructed, this is NOT a cheap made wok. I have used it several times in the past few weeks with excellent results. It is fairly easy to cleanup, I have used the same method of cleanup I do with an electric skillet (if there is food stuck). I put about a half inch of soapy water in the wok and simmer it for a few minutes, it cleans right up. I highly recommend this wok.
