If you don't have a gas stove, do not follow the manufacturer recommandations regarding the milk to boil in the cookpot before its first use.
I got a very thick layer of burnt milk which took forever to clean and slightly damaged my brand-new pot. Instead, simmer for 5 minutes 1 qt of water with 1/2 cup of rice. It will be much safer.
