I was drawn to the simple, classic design of this set, knowing I would tire of the initial wow of a more 'novelty' setting. It looked comfortable and hefty, and indeed it is. It isn't so heavy or large that it looks outsized or tips off your plate the way some restaurant cutlery can, however. I wanted a rounded spoon shaped as these are, and they are not easy to find. The smaller spoon is perfect for desserts, and the soup spoon - perfect for its named use! The fact that the designer is Canadian was a bonus, though I was mildly sorry the pieces themselves are made in China, not N.A. When I looked back over the many choices on the site,little is locally made, a fact of life in the reasonable price range. I have put the pieces in the dishwasher and so far so good, though time will tell. I would guess the manufacturer's advice that 'hand-washing is best' is likely to keep it pristine."..."  Read more
