Bed was well packaged. Our only complaint was that FedEx refused to bring the boxes in the house for us (we are seniors). Delivery was faster than expected and it was wonderful having all duties, taxes, delivery etc. paid in advance. Excellent service! (except for Fed Ex)!!! Was this helpful? Yes / No

Bed is plenty sturdy. Best if headboard is pushed up against the wall with bumpers inbetween though. This will stiffen it enough that you can sit up and lean against the headboard. Was this helpful? Nothing told us how many boxes there were. The 3rd box came after we looked all over for a frame with a footboard or kit to add one. Ordered the kit online before the 3rd box came. Was this helpful? It is made of fine quality wood and beautifully finished. The finish is not too dark or light, the picture does show what the color of finish looks like. The metal looks black with some brushed gold. Our mattress sits in the center of the frame with some room at the head and footboards, which gives enough room for those who are tall and gives ease when making the bed. When we received the set, it was packaged very well, ensuring no damage during shipping. There is nothing that we do not like about this bed. It is exactly what we were looking for.
