I purchased this set as a Christmas gift for my parents. It was used excitedly to prepare our family's Christmas dinner. The finish is nice, and the stainless steel works well in any kitchen. The set also allows for a wide range of foods to be prepared at once, which is convenient when making large meals.
Stainless steel cookware

This set looks very beautiful at first sight but it's shine starts to dim after first use. The ports are light weight and on the smaller side. I will have to purchase larger pots for larger meals, but if you don't cook often or only make small meals for one than this set is good. Also, these pots are highly sticky and heat up very fast. I've had food burn in one on the first use because I didn't know how sticky the pots were and how quickly it heated up. I couldn't scrap all of the charred residue of the bottom of the pot, so its not easy to clean once thats happened. :( Since then i've been careful about controlling the heat settings on my gas stove when cooking with these pots, I wouldn't recommended for large meals with long cook times, food will stick to the pots even when I've used oil. Overall their ok for the price, you get what you paid for.
Great Cookware Set

I was looking for a stainless steel set because I like stainless steel so much better than just aluminum ones. I love that they are made of heavy 18/10 polished stainless steel because they are beautiful in my kitchen and seem very durable. I don't, however; know how long the polished look of the stainless is going to last. These pots and skillets have a thick aluminum disk base that is great for quick, even heat distribution. This thick aluminum disk base is completely encapsulated by stainless steel which helps them resist corrosion and discoloring making clean up easier. The pans' rims are rolled for strength and make it possible to pour without dripping.I have to confess though that I love my cast iron skillets better than these nonstick skillets. I don't like nonstick coatings because they usually end up scratching easily (unless used with proper utensils) and sometimes flake off into the food I cook. I love cast iron and if seasoned properly it is very easy to clean. Also, I am sometimes anemic (have low iron) especially while pregnant and cooking with cast iron helps my anemia. My mother, however; is post menopausal and too much iron could cause her problems she doesn't need or want so I like having a few nonstick pieces of cookware around for when she visits. This set has 4 pots that all have glass lids. These lids fit tightly and help keep moisture and nutrients inside. I can also see into the pot at everything cooking inside it which makes it easier to know when the contents start boiling or simmering without lifting the lid and letting the nutrients and moisture escape. The handles have a retro look to them because they are made of phenolic (Bakelite) and are oven-safe up to 350 degrees F.

I gave this as a gift to my ex-husband, who was still using the same Faberware set we received for our wedding shower in 1991. He likes the various sizes and purposes of the cookware and loves the glass pot covers!

Beware induction cooks!
Jill from Christiansburg, VA – Verified Buyer
After discovering that my current cookware wasn't magnetic and, therefore, didn't work on my new induction cooktop, I scoured the internet to find cookware that would work. The description on this set read, "This cookware set is suitable for induction stovetops." Turns out this is only half true! The pots are magnetic but not the pans! THE PANS DO NOT WORK ON INDUCTION COOKTOPS! Also, it is really hard to clean off any burned food on the bottom of the pots! So last night was a real learning curve! I learned induction cooktops cook quickly, making food burn easily, and trying to cook stir fry in a pot isn't such a good idea!

I purchased these for my daughter for Christmas. She absolutely loves them and they are great for someone just learning to cook.
