This is a basically an eco-friendly product for guys like me who want to avoid plastic in the path of the coffee brewing. (Once bought an expensive product that had plastic taste in the coffee) So can this product be improved to make it "perfect?" Yes. The only part that is plastic is the top cover that allows one to see the coffee as it percolates. Ace Hardware sells a glass top that fits the Yosemite Percolator without modification, other than removing and replacing the old part. Now the Yosemite device is perfect and there is no chance of contamination from outgassing/leaching chemicals. The percolator makes very good tasting coffee when one uses purified water in the brew.

Old school coffee maker and 3 pedal cars work fine when you know how to use them from Michigan on 07/06/2015 – Verified Buyer
I use this outdoors with a propane burner with coarse ground coffee. Just set the burner on high until the water begins to boil and turn the gas down so it perks every 2 to 3 seconds. 5 minutes later you have a hot cup of coffee that is as good as any auto electric coffee maker. Note if you use coffee from a can (automatic or drip grind) you will want filters, that is unless you don't mind chewing it some. Having your own grinder set for coarse ground coffee fixes that and makes the filter optional.

Pros: Stainless Steel
Cons: It is like driving a stick shift on a hill start. Got to pay attention to what you are doing for good results.

I love this coffee pot. from BROKEN ARROW, OK on 01/06/2015 – Verified Buyer
There are a few things I love about this coffee pot. 1. No plastic. 2. Excellent coffee every time I perk. It takes about 12 minutes on my glass top stove burner and it's perfect. 3. I can use it when we're camping! 4. No filters to buy. 5. No more ugly coffee makers on my counter top. I cannot think of any negatives other than the 12 minutes that it takes to brew.

Why did we ever stop using stovetop percolators? from East York, ON on 11/18/2015 – Verified Buyer
First of all, this is a very well made piece and it's also quite attractive. I had originally bought it for entertaining so that I wouldn't have to make 7 cups of coffee, one cup at a time. I also was trying to regain some counterspace. I had considered an electric percolator, but they don't seem to make them like they used to according to the reviews. I thought I could deal with a stove top when I had guests. You know what? I had forgotten how good perked coffee tastes. Now I'm using it every day, cutting a hole in a regular basket filter. It's easy to well made, feels good in your hand, and it's quite nice to look at. It makes over a litre of coffee in less than 10 minutes, and yes, it works on my induction. Yes, the bubble is not glass, but I believe it is one of those new thermo plastics that are supposed to be better than glass. It is not by any means a cheap piece of plastic.

Pros: No more cords, no more broken electrics going to the landfill, quite attractive, and you can't beat the price and honestly it really makes great tasting coffee.. I'm tempted to buy a second just in case I have a crowd for brunch,
Cons: The only con I can think of is the one that made us think we were doing better with expensive machines! ; )

Pros and Cons from union point, GA on 08/20/2014 – Verified Buyer
The rim at the top of this pot is curved inwards. What this does is prevent you from being able to expel all water after washing it. Recently I shook and shook this pot after washing it then turned it upside down on the stove for the next morning. The next morning when I turned it upright there was still some water in the pot. Not such a big deal right? This pot seems like it will hold up well, and the coffee seems different as I would say favorable. I would not select this as my everyday choice. But I like the idea the coffee can easily be heated up one hour later. Cleanup seems to be a hassle as there are more parts to clean. I use a small gas burner and if you want your coffee quickly in the morning this pot will not do the job. I just recently made a pot of coffee this morning and I ended up turning the gas fully on because I got tired of waiting. Overall I give this pot as a good choice because the coffee taste good and the pot seems durable. But I will not use this pot everyday because of the reasons stated above. Take it from there!

Simply the best! from British Columbia Canada on 10/21/2012
This coffee pot is the best we've ever had. We initially purchased two of them about a year and a half ago. The reason we purchased two was I wanted to be able to fill my thermos without having the wait time of brewing a second pot. I ended up giving away one of these pots when a Buddy of mine and his Wife purchased a travel trailer. They loved the gift! My inlaws picked up a camper, and we ended up giving them the other one. However we get to borrow the camper from time to time, and get to use the Coffee Pot. One of the people that we went camping with asked me where I had gotten the Coffee Pot from because he had an old aluminum pot that make okay coffee, but he was really impressed with the coffee I had gave him out of the pot I had brewed. I told him I couldn't remember, and that i'd see if I could find the reciept. (Christmas gift for him and his wife). I ended up purchasing two more of these pots. One for my Bud and his wife, and one for my wife and I for use at home. These pots are very well designed, and are very sturdy being all stainless steel. They are worth every penny!

Well made, practical from South Euclid, OH on 10/03/2015 – Verified Buyer
We love to perk coffee on the stove top and have been using a glass percolator. Not too long ago it had to be replaced when I accidentally dropped it on the floor thus breaking it. We found another on e-bay but payed quite a lot for it. When I saw this pot at Wayfair and noticed what a bargain the price was, I decided to purchase it as a back up. It looks great and I am anxious to give it a try. I have since recommended it to others looking for a more earth friendly way to make coffee.

Pros: Grest price. Well made.
Cons: Non

Solid Product from MI on 12/18/2015 – Verified Buyer
The construction of the product A+. Nothing cheap about this at all good looking stainless steel product. Makes a great cup of coffee everytime, I had a concern that some coffee grinds would end up in the pot but so far this has not happened. Everything is stainless no plastic in this product at all. I bought this to get a way from the plastic in Mr. C type maker. No bitter taste with the coffee and very easy clean up. I paid eighteen dollars for it and I consider it a great price for this product.

Love this percolator from West Valley City, UT on 04/20/2014 – Verified Buyer
Works well with or without a filter for the basket. The handle does get hot but this is to be expected as it is used over a gas flame. I purchased this to use on our camping trips and it exceeded all my expectations. It would be nice to have cup markings inside the pot but after some trial and error, I can now eyeball the perfect amount of water. Very nice look and recommend this product to others.

It's all STAINLESS STEEL any my coffee tastes terrific! from Lakewood, CA on 11/24/2015 – Verified Buyer
I am very pleased with the Farberware Yosemite coffee pot I just received. I am especially happy that it is ALL stainless steel - I am tired of getting coffee from plastic coffeepots with horrible paper filters that created a further artificial taste. While on vacation in Europe last September I sampled some superb coffee from Holland, and I ordered some of this from a specialty web site. Now I can brew this delicious coffee in a REAL coffeepot - Thanks so much for a great product.
