solid but awkward

The pot is nice and big and well made. The lid attaches securely. However, this design seems like a better idea than it really is in practice. When draining some of the hot water still comes out between the pot and the lid, not all through the drain holes. But the biggest problem is that it seems difficult to drain it completely. I can't just dump the pasta into the casserole dish, for example, without getting residual water. I think the sort of drain pot with an insert strainer is likely more efficient.

Just used this for the first time the other day, and the only complaint I have is that handles get hot. I had to use oven mitt to remove it from the stove, but we cook on gas, so maybe that contributed too the higher heating.
A must- have!

I make spaghetti all the time and wore out my old pan. This was a replacement and it is so much better than what I had before - two sizes of drain holes on the lid and it locks into place. I can't say enough about this pot!

I wasn't sure this would work, but it is as easy as the picture shows. so far the lid has never come off during straining.

Having the perforations in the lid eliminates the need for an additional strainer, cooks evenly, easy clean up. Great quality. Very fast and friendly customer service.
Review for Farberware Classic 8 Qt. Stock Pot in Stainless Steel

It is more then I expected. When I make noodles or vegetable; I don't have to have a separate colander to drain the noodles or vegetables. I can just season and put it on the table.

I have used Farberware pots for 30 years and I am very pleased with their quality and performance. I came across this Straining Stockpot on Warfair's website and ordered it because I liked the idea of the built in straining lid. It is very useful for so many things besides straining pasta. I purchased one for my son as well. Also ordering it from Wayfair was the best price that I came across.
Great to have!

I ordered this pot not sure it would be what I wanted and boy was I surprised....It cooks great, has a pour lid that hooks so it won't come off when you are draining hot liquids, is a great size and cleans up so easily.
